Established Well Over
40 Years Ago

Bushmans River Trout was established well over 40 years ago. From one man’s desire to grow fish it developed into a small family business. The primary focus was to stock local dams and rivers in KwaZulu Natal.
 
With new ownership from 2019 came a new initiative to improve and add to the value chain by producing not only live trout but also processed trout. Our fertilized trout ova is also exported to the International Market.
 

To ensure we produce top of the range table trout:

Trout thrives in clear, cold water that is free of impurities. These conditions make trout a protein-rich food, filled with amino acids. Trout is a protein rich food, that is filled with amino acids. They are also very easy to prepare. Whole fresh trout only takes 10-15 minutes to cook, while hot smoked trout is ready to eat.
